🪷समर्पितभगवान विष्णुशान्ताकारं भुजगशयनम्
Shantakaram Bhujagashayanam
A traditional meditation verse describing the serene cosmic form of Lord Vishnu.
शान्ताकारं भुजगशयनं पद्मनाभं सुरेशं।
Vishnu rests in perfect serenity upon the cosmic serpent, lotus arising from his navel, sovereign of the gods.
विश्वाधारं गगनसदृशं मेघवर्णं शुभाङ्गम्॥
He supports the universe, is vast like the sky, cloud-hued and filled with auspicious beauty.
लक्ष्मीकान्तं कमलनयनं योगिभिर्ध्यानगम्यम्।
He is Lakshmi's beloved, lotus-eyed, and realised by yogis through meditation.
वन्दे विष्णुं भवभयहरं सर्वलोकैकनाथम्॥
I bow to Vishnu, sole Lord of all worlds, who removes the fear bound to worldly existence.
शान्ताकारं भुजगशयनम् का अर्थ
The verse contemplates Vishnu as serene, all-supporting, lotus-eyed and accessible through meditation.
