Privacy Policy
BhajanDhara is a reading library. There is no account to create, no newsletter to join and no form to fill in, so there is very little about you for us to hold — and we have tried to keep it that way.

What we do not collect
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or date of birth. We do not run accounts or logins. We do not sell or rent data about you to anyone, and we do not build advertising profiles ourselves.
What stays on your own device
Your reading preferences and your jaap counts are kept in your browser’s local storage, on your device. They are never sent to us and we cannot read them. This covers your light or dark theme, whether you have paused animations, your script and language choice while reading, and the counts, targets and records in the jaap counter. Clearing your browser’s site data erases all of it, including your counter records, which is worth knowing before you clear it.
Traffic measurement
We use Vercel Analytics to see which pages are read and roughly where readers come from. It sets no cookies and does not follow you between sites; it reports aggregate counts, not individuals. We use it to decide what to work on next.
Advertising
Parts of the site carry advertising from Google AdSense, which is how the library is paid for. Ads are labelled, and they are kept off the verses themselves: you will not find one between the lines of a chalisa or beside the reading pane.
Google and its partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to choose and measure the ads you see, including ads based on your earlier visits to this and other sites. That processing is Google’s, under its own terms, not ours. You can review and change what Google uses at My Ad Center, read how Google handles data across its partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and opt out of personalised advertising from many vendors at optout.aboutads.info.
If you are reading from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message appears before personalised ads are served, and you can change your answer at any time from the link in that message. Declining does not restrict any part of the library; you simply see non-personalised ads instead.
The Android app
The BhajanDhara app collects nothing. The counter and its records are stored on your phone. The daily reminder is a local notification scheduled by the app itself and involves no server. If you allow notifications you can withdraw that permission in Android settings at any time.
Children
The site is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them, and since we ask for no personal details at all there is nothing for us to delete.
Links out
Some entries link to source texts, temple sites and official calendars run by other people. Once you follow such a link you are on their site, under their privacy policy, not ours.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Substantive changes will be described in the site’s changelog rather than slipped in quietly.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or about anything on the site, can go to bhajandhara.support@gmail.com. If you would like something corrected — a verse, a translation, a source note — that address is the right place for it too.
