Hindi Wikisource carries no transcription of this aarti, so the cited edition is used as the reference text and was checked against several widely published Hindi recensions. Two documented variants: the cited edition reads तिलक where most printings read सिंदूर (सिंदूर is set here), and verse order differs between editions — some place the अंधे को आँख verse before पान चढ़े. Some household versions add a दीनन की लाज राखो verse, which is not set here. No modern source translation is reproduced; the line meanings are original.
जय गणेश देवा का अर्थ
This is the aarti most North Indian households sing at the close of Ganesha worship, and for many people it is the first devotional text they learn by ear rather than from a page. Its structure is simple: a refrain naming Ganesha's parentage, then verses on his form, the offerings placed before him and his boundless giving, closing with the poet's signature and a return to the refrain. Aarti of this kind was made to be sung by a room of people holding a lamp, so its lines are short, its images concrete, and its claims generous in the way a song is generous.
